Seton Hall University…………..Down by as much as 16 points, Teaneck made a tremendous comeback against Linden H.S. in the Hoop Group Tipoff Showcase! Unfortunately for the Highwaymen their rally fell short! Going to a small lineup in the 4th quarter, Teaneck brought the pressure and chipped away behind the play of 5’5 Sophomore Shakir Lindsey(13pts, including 10 in 4th), Junior Chris Jones(13pts,4rebs) and Sophomore Joel Hernandez(13pts,9rebs)! They also got a big three point play from Junior Chris Jones late in the game to cut the lead to 2, but a turnover proved to be costly as Linden, behind Junior Rodney Sanders( M.V.P.pictured)held on! Sanders finished with 18 points and 11 rebounds while Junior Shakir Phelps added 12 points and guard Elijah Hodge had 17!

The Friars had to overcome a “three fest” as Sophomore guard Jaren Sina and Junior guard Alex Mottola combined for 11 “triples” in the contest! The Knights had a one point lead in the 1st quarter 17-16, but Anthony’s slowly took the lead by the half 35-30! The Friars began to slow down the scoring of Sina and Mottolain the 2nd half while taking over the boards behind Anderson, Jerome Frink(8rebs.) and Lucious Jones(7rebs)!
