PASSAIC COUNTY TOURNAMENT: DEPAUL DEFEATS WAYNE HILLS 74-66!!
Wayne,NJ…. DePaul’s Senior Juwuan Carter has been carrying the Spartan’s this season as his 23 points per game average would suggest. But when playing County Tournament basketball their has to be major contributions from everyone! DePaul got just that!
While Carter, who is a sure candidate for area Player Of The Year imposed his will with 24 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists his teammates were also major figures in their 74-66 win over Wayne Hills! Besides Carter, DePaul had four 4 other players in double figures! Junior Spencer Smith(right) scored 15 points and did a tremendous job on Wayne Hills Senior guard Scott Wills! Though Wills finished with 13 points, 5 came when the game was out of reach! Smith scored 8 big points in the second half when Wayne Hills was making their run! Junior Debon Bright(left) added 12 points, including back to back clutch buckets in the 4th quarter! Freshman Isaiah Robinson scored 11 points with 3 steals and Senior Devin Shuster chipped in 10 points! Senior Joey Kenny led Wayne Hills with 19 points and 13 rebounds, while Sophomore Dorian Hodge showed how bright his future is going to be, scoring 15 points on numerous tough buckets with 4 steals! DePaul now plays the winner of Eastside-Wayne Valley in the Semifinals at Kennedy next weekend!
NOTES: Depaul honored Carter before the game on for scoring his 1,000th point of his career!!
