PASSAIC COUNTY TOURNAMENT: KENNEDY AND WAYNE HILLS WIN!

Gardenstatehoops caught two Passaic County Tournament games and saw Kennedy and Wayne Hills advance to the Semifinals!                                                                                    KENNEDY  65       PASSAIC  50

 Paterson….Senior Zhimir Canty’s  3 “triples”to end the 3rd quarter gave Kennedy some breathing room and they went on to defeat Passaic 65-50! With the score tied at the half at 25, Kennedy and Passaic went back and forth until late in the quarter when Senior Jamir Lattimore found Canty(far right) three straight possessions for huge shots and give Kennedy a 49-40 lead to end the quarter! Kennedy then proceeded to go on an 8-0 run to put the game out of reach! Senior Jaylen Colon scored 14 points and Sophomore Deishon Harrison(right) scored 12 points, while Junior Avant’e Gilbert added 10! Lattimore scored 6 points with 7 assists and 9 rebounds! Freshman Antrell Monroe led Passaic with 17 points!

Wayne,,,, Wayne Hills had four players in double figures as they jumped on Eastside early and never let them get close in a 66-41 win! Senior Joey Belli(far right) led the scoring with 18 points, Senior Patrick Gilmore(right) scored 15 points coming off the bench, Senior Justin wills added 12 points and Senior Jason Modak chipped in 10 points and pulled down 10 rebounds! Hills took a 26-10 1st quarter lead and never looked back! Eastside star guard could never find the range as he led the Ghosts in scoring with a quiet 10 points! Wayne Hills will now face Wayne Valley in the Semis and Kennedy will play Passaic County Tech!
