PASSAIC HOLDS ON TO DEFEAT DEPAUL 57-55!
Wayne,N.J…..Passaic had control of the game most of the way, but a late DePaul run made them sweat to the end as they managed to hold on to a 57-55 win!
Passaic had four players in double figures led by Junior Jamir Thomas(pictured) who scored 13 points and 7 rebounds despite picking up 3 fouls in the 1st quarter and sitting the entire 2nd! Passaic took a 15 point lead into the 4th quarter, when DePaul led by Senior Jordan Thomas made a tremendous comeback! DePaul’s pressure defense cut into the lead as Passaic was careless with the basketball! A”triple” from Junior Isaiah Robinson and a layup by Thomas cut the lead to 54-52 with 52.2 left! But a layup by Junior Quasim Wilson and free throws by Jamir Thomas was enough to pull off the victory! Wilson, Senior Wilmer Sanchez and Senior Jordan Hernandez each scored 10 points for Passaic! DePaul’s Thomas finished with 15 points, 5 assists and 5 steals, Robinson added 14 points and 7 rebounds! Senior Noel Rust chipped in 12 points, including a big and 1 play down the stretch!
