PATERSON CHARTER DEFEATS ST. MARY’S 72-53!

Paterson,N.J….. Paterson Charter found their game in the second half and in a total team effort, went on to defeat St. Mary’s(Ruth.) 72-53!

Charter trailed at the half 33-27, but outscored St. Mary’s in the 2nd half 45-20 as Charter got contributions from numerous players! Senior Rajah Cameron(far right) scored 9 points in the 3rd quarter to lead Charter’s spurt! Cameron was a big factor as he finished with a team high 19 points, but the play of Paterson Charter’s two bigs  in Junior Caleb Ruffin and Senior Joseph Collazo was huge! Ruffin(middle) finished with 13 points and 13 rebounds and Collazo added 6 points and 9 rebounds as their board work got P.C. second and third shots throughout the game! Senior Bashir Byrd(near pic) scored 10 of his 15 points in the first half to keep Charter within striking distance and the play of Junior Troy Medlock who scored 12 points, grabbed 6 rebounds with 2 steals and a blocked shot also was a key contributor! St. Mary’s played short handed  as Senior Rob Carroza was ill, Senior Nick Boyd was all Charter could handle as he finished with a game high 30 points with 4 steals in the contest! Paterson Charter out rebounded St. Mary’s 40- 23 which proved to be the biggest difference!
