PATERSON CHARTER HOLIDAY CLASSIC: UNION CATHOLIC AND TEANECK TO FINALS…PASSAIC COUNTY TECH AND NORTH BERGEN WIN!

Paterson Charter Paterson,N.J… The Paterson Charter Holiday Classic saw Union Catholic and Teaneck reach the finals of the Holiday Classic and also had Passaic County Tech and North Bergen win their contests! The Championship will be Sunday!

                                                              UNION CATHOLIC  68   POPE JOHN  58

Junior Gio Phillips(right) scored 17 points and Senior Nahshon Battle(far right) added 15 points and 9 rebounds to lead Union Catholic to a 68-58 win over Pope John! Junior Matt Tracey finished with 12 points and 7 rebounds! Union catholic had to withstand the performance of Pope John Senior guard Eddie Davis who scored a game high 30 points, 19 coming in the 2nd half! Sophomore Diandre South finished with 11 points and 7 rebounds for Pope John!

 

 

 

                                                            TEANECK  56      PATERSON CHARTER  45

Freshman Dasean Lecque scored 16 points and Senior Vernon Johnson(pictured) and Senior Nadame Tucker scored 12 points apiece to lead Teaneck to a 56-45 win over Paterson Charter! With the score tied at 15 with 3 minutes left in 1st half Teaneck went on a 7-0 run to end the stanza leading 22-15! Teaneck never looked back as they stretch the lead to 17 points at one point in the contest! Senior Rajah Cameron led PC with 13 points, Senior Bashir Byrd finished with 12 and Junior Troy Medlock chipped in 10!

Senior Joshua Combs(right)scored 19 points and grabbed 7 rebounds and point guard Tokonowa Thomas Jr. played a great floor game in leading Passaic County Tech to a 54-51 win over Passaic! Thomas only scored 7 points, but accounted for 7 assists and 6 steals! Senior Hassan High Jr. chipped in 9 points for Tech! Junior Coby Sylvester led Passaic with 19 points and Senior Rodney Estevez finished with 11 points and 8 rebounds!

 

                                                                  NORTH BERGEN  51       DEPAUL  42

Senior Mohammad Saleh scored 14 points, pulled down 8 rebounds with 5 steals, Senior Kevin Gardner finished with 11 points and 7 rebounds and Sophomore DeAvion Ellis hit 3″triples” and scored 11 points as North Bergen defeated DePaul 51-42! The game was tied at 24 at the half, but North Bergen’s constant pressure finally wore DePaul down! Senior Bryan Henderson and Senior Anthony Corbo each scored 11 points for DePaul!
