PATERSON REC/PLAYAZ BASKETBALL FALLBALL LEAGUE: POPE JOHN, GILL ST.BERNARD, ST.JOSEPH AND TEANECK WIN!

Kennedy H.S. Paterson,N.J…..The Paterson Rec/Playaz Basketball FallBall League took place Wednesday and on a day where their were four down to the wire contests Pope John, Gill St.Bernard, St.Joseph and Teaneck all came away victorious! Sophomore Samba Diallo(far right) helped Pope John come from a 9 point deficit late in the contest with a game high 23 points and Sophomore Louis King added 14 points to defeat Kennedy 69-66! Kennedy played well as a team as 9 players scored, led by Senior Jordan Rodriguez’s 10 points! Freshman Jake Betlow(far left) scored 17 points ,including a few NBA range “triples” to lead Gill St.Bernard to a 60-52 win over Don Bosco Prep! Prep tried to make a valiant comeback as Senior Omar Mostafa scored a team high 17 points, but it was too little, too late! In a highly contested game St.Joseph Regional, behind the 21 points from Senior Nate Garvey(right) and the 18 points from Junior Chauncey Hawkins defeated Newark Eastside 66-59! The game went down the stretch as Joe’s had to withstand the play of Newark Eastside’s  Sophomore guard Jihad Wright  who scored 20 points! Teaneck’s Junior Juwaun Daniels(left) scored 17 points and Sophomore Ja’Quaye James added 13 points as Teaneck took the lead, lost the lead, then took the lead for good in a close 60-55 win over Immaculate Conception! Sophomore Jalen Carey scored 22 points and Sophomore Justin Winston finished with 14 points to lead Immaculate!
