PLAYAZ PEACH JAM CHAMPS!!!!!!

Mission accomplished!! The Playaz Basketball Club set out to on a journey to win the Nike EYBL Championship and the fabled Peach Jam and that’s exactly what happened! In a hard fought, entertaining game which came down to a controversial technical foul Isaiah Briscoe hit two clutch free throws with 3.4 seconds in the game to lift the Playaz to a 85-83 win over Anfernee Hardaway’s Team Penny club and give the Playaz the EYBL Championship! The Playaz had a balanced attack where they got major contributions from everyone led by Briscoe(left) who finished with 20 points, 12 rebounds and 7 dimes! Temple Gibbs added 19 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists, Moustapha Diagne scored 16 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, Travon Duval had 12 points and 3 dimes, Elijah Cain chipped in 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 dimes and Shakur Juiston and Alex Thomas did all the intangible things it takes to win games( blocks, defense, fifty-fifty ball etc..)! It was not easy as Team Penny with four players in the Rivals Top 100 were led by athletic guard Kevaughn Allen! Allen finished with 22 points, while K.J. Lawson scored 20 points and Dedrick Lawson and P.J. Washington each chipped in 14 points! The game was decided on a technical foul by Team Penny and Briscoe knocked down the deciding free throws to ice it! The Playaz reached the”Chip’ by defeating local rival Team Scan 65-55 led by Briscoe’s 18 points and Temple Gibbs 13! Scan was led by new Jersey product Tyus Battle with 18 points!

 

NOTES: Congratulations has to go out Director/Coach Jimmy Salmon, Coach Jerome Smart and Coach Jamal Slappy on getting this team on the same page! This team may not have been the most talented team man for man, but they were by far the best team in the EYBL and credit has to go out to the Coaching staff!
