Dave Robertson-West’s two free throws with 12 seconds left proved to be the game winning points as Eastside snuck out of Bergen Catholic H.S. gym with a 60-58 win. Robertson-West was huge, scoring 29 points and more importantly, made all 13 of his foul shots. B.C. came ready after losing their last two games. They held the lead most of the game behind the play of point guard Sean McGuire (12 pts., 4 asts.) and swingman Eric Flanagan (12 pts., 4 treys). The constant defensive pressure of Eastside’s guards, led by Karon Abraham(13 pts.,4 asts., 4 stls.) and Bryant Lewis(12 pts., 2 stls.) eventually brought Eastside to a tie game at 47 to end the 3rd. It became a strategic battle in the 4th as B.C. was content to slow the game down by sitting in a zone and Eastside tried to speed it up with pressure. In the end it came down to who was the best player on the floor and tonight it was Robertson-West.
