STATE CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS: NEWARK EASTSIDE, HADDONFIELD, MOORESTOWN AND NEW PROVIDENCE WIN!

328Rutgers University, N.J…..The Public School Groups had their Championship games today and had Newark Eastside, Haddonfield, Moorestown and New Providence walk away with Titles!

                                        NEWARK EASTSIDE   70              FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP  44

Newark Eastside put on a defensive display in routing Freehold Township 70-44! Trailing 16-12 to end the 1st quarter, Newark Eastside full court press turned the game completely around! They outscored 330Freehold 58-28 in the next three quarters and won the Group 4 State Championship! Senior Anas Amos(center) led the way with 14 points and 8 assists! Junior Mikah Johnson led the scoring with 18 points and Senior Nasir Johnson added 11 points! Senior Seth Meisner led Freehold with 12 points and Senior Greg Billups added 10 points!

 

 

                                                     HADDONFIELD  64      WESTSIDE   53

In a thrilling game, Haddonfield made the plays down the stretch and outlasted Westside to pull off a 64-53 win and a Group 2 Championship! Senior Mike DePersia made an and one and a couple fre337e throws late to help Haddonfield ice it! Senior Drew Gavranich came off the bench to lead Haddonfield in scoring with 17 points! DePersia added 16 points, while Senior Dan Fleming finished with 12 points! Senior Dylan Heine scored 10 points and pulled down 9 rebounds! Westside trailed by nine 29-20 at the half but put on a tremendous defensive display which finally gave them a 44-43 lead with 6:22 left in the game DePersia answered with a triple to give Haddonfield back the lead 46-44! They never relinquished the lead!

 

 

                                                    MOORESTOWN   58          RAMAPO   44

Senior Jagger Zrada scored 20 points and Senior Nick Cartwright-Atkins added 12 342points, pulled down 10 rebounds and help hold Ramapo star KC Hunt early in the contest which gave Moorestown an early lead which they maintained throughout the contest as Moorestown defeated Ramapo 58-44 and won the Group 3 State Championship!! Ramapo cut the lead to 7 late in the game, but could never get closer! Hunt battled his way to 15 points and 4 steals and Lafayette commit Neal Quinn added 13 points and 8 rebounds for Ramapo!

 

 

                                                NEW PROVIDENCE   66             BURLINGTON CITY  56

Senior Greg Meyers scored 26 points, Senior Dylan Bedder added 13 points and 17 reb350ounds and Senior Richie Wawzycki added 13 points as New Providence jumped on Burlington City early and never looked back to win the Group 1 State Championship! New Providence took a 33-18 lead at the half and held off every run Burlington City could muster up! Junior Deonte Woodbury led Burlington with 20 points!
