020The final contest of the Highschool basketball season has arrived as Roselle Catholic takes on Pope John for the Tournament Of Champions title! Roselle Catholic reached the final by destroying Paulsboro 103-34, while Pope John moved into the title game by defeating Newark Tech 78-59!

ROSELLE CATHOLIC VS POPE JOHN — This should be a fun game as it showcases the talent that is coming out of the State of New Jersey! Roselle Cath015olic has 3 College committed players and Pope John has two with both teams having other players with interest and offers from schools! Roselle Catholic will be led by the consensus best player in the State in 6’3 Kentucky commit Senior Isaiah Briscoe! His offensive brilliance is beyond reproach on the highschool level! Briscoe( right) is the one player that can take it over completely! His job will be to keep his teammates involved and then score when needed!6’9 South Carolina commit Chris Silva will have to play strong as he will be going against two of the top bigs in the State in Pope John’s Syracuse commit Moustapha Diagne and Senior Jeromy Rodriguez who also has high major interest! Silva has gotten better and better as a post player but his ability athle010tically around the rim is his greatest strength! 6’4 Junior Matt Bullock has to be for his size one of the best athletes in the state as he has a perimeter game and the mobility and strength to get to the rim! 6’6 Monmouth commit Pierre Saar is a smooth perimeter player who can knock down the outside shot with consistency!6′ Senior Taahir Pretlow has been a big addition as he is solid on both ends of the floor and 6’10 Freshman N007azereon Reid is a starter anywhere else and one of the best players in his class in the Country!6’9 Diagne(left) is the leader for Pope John physically and emotionally and his game has gotten better and better with a consistent mid range jumper and the ability to finish around the rim with both hands! The 6’7 Rodriguez has probably had the biggest coming out party of any player in the State as he has become a rebounding fiend, a strong defender and an incredible finisher!6’4 Junior James Scott is their most consistent scorer and the one player that can score in bunches for Pope John as he has a strong jumper and gotten better at putting the ball on the floor!6’6 Senior Damien Rance is Pope John’s long range shooter and 6′ Junior Ray Montilus is as solid a point guard as their is and one of the best defensively in the State! The 6’1 Fordham commit Max Zignorski has unselfishly come off the bench and provided scoring, defense and leadership! Made numerous big plays in win over Newark Tech!

Prediction: Both teams are deserving of being here and neither have run from any challenge all season! If the game becomes fast pace that plays into Roselle Catholic’s hands, but if game is played in halfcourt setting anything can happen! Can’t see Pope John stopping one of the best fast break offenses in the State and see Roselle Catholic winning the T.O.C. title for the second time in three years!
