T.O.C. SEMIFINALS: ROSELLE CATHOLIC AND POPE JOHN TO MEET IN THE “CHIP”!

019 Pine Belt Arena Toms River,N.J….. After a grueling basketball season it has finally come down to two teams to vie for the State Championship! Roselle Catholic and Pope John will face each other for the title at The Sun National Center in Trenton!

This score is not a misprint! Roselle Catholic could not play any better than they did in destroying Paulsboro 103-34! If their was any doubt when playing at their best who the best team in the state is Roselle Catholic made a huge statement! In half a game Kentucky commit Is011aiah Briscoe(right) led R.C. with 18 points and 5 assists, Junior Matt Bullock(left) scored 17 points with 8 rebounds, South Carolina commit Chris Silva chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds and Freshman Nazereon Reid went 5 for 5 from the floor as Roselle Catholic outscored Paulsboro 63-14 in the 1st half in shooting a blistering 68% from the floor and forcing 16 turnovers! Roselle Catholic had 15 players score in the contest! Paulsboro was led by Senior Saleem Little with 12 points!

For the first two quarters this was a tight contest, but Pope John behind the play of Junior James Scott(pictured) and Fordham recruit018 Max Zignorski out scored Newark Tech 45-30 in the 2nd half to win 78-59 and head to the title game! Scott scored 22 points with 4 assists and 4 steals and Zignorski came off the bench to score 16 points! Senior Jeromy Rodriguez and Syracuse recruit Moustapha Diagne each had double-doubles as Rodriguez scored 11 points and pulled down 16 rebounds and Diagne scored 11 points with 10 boards! A key point of the game was with Pope John leading 49-40 Newark Tech picked up 2 technical fouls and Zignorski hit 4 free throws to give Pope John a 53-40 lead and some cushion! Newark Tech was led by Senior Jordan Zagadou with 21 points and 7 rebounds and Junior Mustafa Lawrence with 17 points!
