Paterson Charter School, Paterson,N.J…… For the third year in a row Teaneck will be playing in the finals of the Playaz sponsored Jingle Bells Jubilee! They will face Hackensack who also was impressive in their victory!

Shocking was the way to explain how Teaneck jumped on a very good Newark Tech team! The Highwaymen forced turnovers 005early and took a 13 point lead at 23-10 to end the 1st! The pressure did not stop there as Teaneck continued to force missed shots and ride the scoring of their two studs, Senior Joel Hernandez and Senior Shakir Lindsey! Teaneck took total control of the game and went into the half up 44-22 and never looked back! The impressive aspect of Teaneck’s manhandling of Tech was that while Hernandez and Lindsey did their usual thing, more and more they are getting huge contributions from other players on the team! Senior Marcus Fulmore had an impressive performance as he tried to fill up the stat sheet! Fulmore(pictured) had 12 points 10 rebounds,6 assists and 3 steals to provide needed help for Teaneck! Sophomore Cesar DeJesus, Senior DeVaunte Locadia, Senior Eddie Pena, Junior Myles McLeod and JuniorLavrone Green-Reels all contributed to the win and are starting to prove that Teaneck is more than a two man team! Newark Tech was led by Senior Dwayne Murrill with 20 points and Senior Rakwan Kelly with 13! Lindsey and Hernandez finished with 20 and 19 points respectively!

If it was told that high scoring Junior wing Rashard Figures would finish a game with only 4 points, you would assume that Hackensack was in a dog fight or lost the contest! Neither was the case as the Comets rolled past Irvington 70-53 and will meet Teaneck in the “Chip”! Hackensack took a 36-18 halftime lead and just like Teaneck coasted to the victory! While Figures did not put up big scoring numbers he contributed in other ways as he grabbed 8 rebounds, dished out 6 dimes, blocked 2 shots and had 2 steals! The scoring leader was Senior Jaimik Moore(right) who scored 20 points and grabbed 6 boards! Senior Gene Marshall finished with a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds and Senior Chris Myers and Sophomore Anthony Uribe each finished with 10! Irvington was led by Senior Elijah Brown with 15 points and Junior Shakur Juiston finished added a double-double with 10 points and 10 boards!

                                                                                         KENNEDY  54             PASSAIC VALLEY  46

002

For a game and three quarters Kennedy looked lifeless! After losing to Newark Tech by 17 the night before, th003e Knights found themselves down 38-30 heading into the 4th quarter against Passaic Valley! Then finally with 6 minutes left in the 4th Kennedy finally came alive! They cut the lead to one at 44-43 with 4:54 left on a layup by Freshman Alphonso Gee(right) and went ahead for the first time since the 1st half on a steal and assist by Sophomore Aalim Jones(left) to Gee to give them a 45-44 lead! After a free throw by PV’s Junior Stefan Minic gave them a 46-45 lead, two free throws from Senior Hassan Townes and another Jones to Gee connection gave Kennedy a 49-46 lead and they held the Hornets off the scoreboard the rest of the way! Gee scored 9 of his 20 points in the 4th quarter and Jones finished the game with 8 dimes and 4 steals! The win allows Kennedy to play Piscataway Tech for third place on Sunday! Passaic Valley was led by Freshman guard Jihad Wright with 14 points!

                                                                      PISCATAWAY TECH  46               PASSAIC  34

004

Piscataway Tech rolled past a sluggish Passaic team behind the play of Junior forward Jordan Lackey with 12 points and 7 rebounds and the 10 points and 9 rebounds from Senior Turell McClendon! Passaic had no player in double figures and was led by Senior Gervon Williams with 7! Star Senior wing Rashaan Johnson was held to 4 points for Passaic! Piscataway Tech never trailed in the game and outrebounded Passaic 35- 20!
