TYRONE COLLINS CLASSIC: KENNEDY AND PATERSON CHARTER WIN!

 

Kennedy H.S. Paterson, N.J……. The 1st Annual Tyrone Collins Classic took place today and had Kennedy and Paterson Charter pull off victories!

Yasen Crawford played a special game in leading Kennedy to a 96-51 rout over Passaic!  The Sophomore guard scored a career high 29 points, had 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 5 steals to lead Kennedy! He was not the only problem for Passaic as Senior Mark Heber scored 17 points and pulled down 5 rebounds and Senior Deishon Harrison scored 15 points with 8 assists! Kennedy outscored Passaic 29-10 in the 2nd quarter to take a 52-25 at the half and coasted the rest of the way as they added another 28 points in the 3rd to take a very commanding 80-37 lead! Passaic was led by Senior Kendall Malloy with 16 points and 9 rebounds, while Coby Sylvester added 12 points and Senior Antrell Monroe chipped in 10! Crawford was chosen Player Of The Game! Paterson Charter held on to defeat a game Paterson Eastside 58-52! Senior Sadiki Miller led Charter with 13 points and 3 steals! Senior Zahire Robinson added 9 points and 10 rebounds while Junior Jamir Bellfield and Senior Marquis Harris added 9 points apiece! Charter led by as much as 15 in the 3rd quarter,finishing the stanza leading 41-31! Eastside however, would not go away easily as their constant pressure helped close the gap to as little as two 54-52! Miller’s bucket late helped give Charter the cushion they needed to hold on! Junior Levi Holton led the Ghosts with 14 points, while Sophomore Cozier Harmon added 12 points and Senior Joshua Cash added 10 points and 4 assists!
