WAYNE HILLS WINS 1ST PASSAIC COUNTY TITLE! Yeah

Wayne Valley H.S. Wayne,N.J… Wayne Hills came back late to tie the game, then pulled off a stunning 55-51 overtime win over Kennedy to win their first ever County Championship in the school’s history!Trailing by 8 with a little over a minute left, Senior Justin Wills(pictured) hit two “triples” and Senior Joey Belli made two free throws to send the game into overtime! Senior Joe Cerrone made key free throws in the extra session and il advised shots by Kennedy gave Wayne Hills the win! Wills finished with 20 points to lead Hills! Kennedy seemed to have taken control of the game as Senior Jaylen Colon scored 12 points in the 4th quarter and Junior Avant’e Gilbert added a bucket off a Colon feed to take a eight point lead with 1:10 left! Wills and Belli did their heroics to send the game into Overtime! Belli was held to 9 points by Kennedy Senior Jamir Lattimore, but his supporting cast gave him much needed help as Senior Jason Modak and Cerrone scored 8 points apiece and Junior Jake Belli added 7, including a “triple” at the end of the 3rd quarter! Colon finished with 21 points and Gilbert finished with 10 points for Kennedy!
