“WE GOT NEXT” TOURNAMENT:PLAYAZ BEAT TAKEOVER!

Kennedy H.S., Paterson, NJ… The Playaz sponsored “We Got Next” Tournament was played this weekend and on Championship Sunday the Semifinals and “Chip”was played and ended with the Playaz  taking the title over D.C.’s talented Team Takeover squad! The Playaz got a hot start from guard Marquis Nowell who scored 16 points and a big second half from Tavon Jones(right) who was the player of the game and scored 12 points to pull off a close 54-51 win! Team Takeover was led by the smooth play of Justin Moore(left) who finished with 23 points! The Playaz reached the “Chip”by defeating the Hudson Hawks 58-47 behind Armani Sexton’s 23 points and 12 from Jones and Nowell! Hudson was led by Khalief Crawford with 17 points and Tyheem Burno who added 13! Takeover made it to the “Chip” as Moore again led the way scoring 20 points to key their 45-40 win over the Union Panthers! The Panthers were led by Joshua Carson who scored 21 points!
