WEDNESDAY FALLBALL RESULTS: ROSELLE CATHOLIC, PATERSON EASTSIDE, TEANECK AND NEWARK EASTSIDE WIN!!

  Kennedy HS., Paterson, NJ…. The Wednesday Fallball League games sponsored by The Playaz Club and Paterson Recreation brought some star studded players and teams out and while it will be very competitive the whole way, Paterson Eastside, Newark Eastside , Teaneck and Roselle Catholic made their mark the first week of play! The first games pitted Roselle Catholic and St. Anthony’s with both favorites to be in the TOC for this season. While it’s just Fallball the game was played intensely and was the best contest of the night! St. Ant’s behind the play of Senior Tarin Smith led most of the game, leading by as much as 12 points! But Roselle crept back in the game as Junior Isaiah Briscoe(top right) and Junior Chris Silva(right) led the way! With the scored tied at 51, Silva made a putback lay and was fouled where he converted the free throw to give Roselle Catholic a 54-51 lead with 10 seconds on the clock. That proved to be the winning basket! Briscoe finished with 17 points and Silva added 16, while Smith led St. Anthony’s with 18! The other contest was between Paterson Eastside and St. Benedict’s and in a bit of s surprise Eastside jumped all over Benedict’s and beat them 55-41! Junior Asem Johnson(left) led Eastside with 19 points while 5’6 guard Aaryn Abrams scored 16 points and caused all sorts of problems for Benedict’s guards! Junior’s Shakur Juiston and Marquell Sheffield did a great job down low for Eastside! Benedict’s Brandon Austin was the lone bright spot for St. Benedict’s with 22 points!  The later games featured Newark Eastside against Hudson Catholic and Teaneck facing Gill St. Bernards! Newark Eastside’s Seton Hall commit Ismael Sonago(bottom left) showed the few Pirate’s fans in the audience something to look forward to! He and his teammates played locked down defense and won 36-15! Sanogo scored 14 of their 35 and was the best player in the game! Teaneck got balanced scoring beating Gill St. Bernard 55-46  led by Junior Ceasar DeJesus with 14 points! Senior Corey Brown and Senior Lavrone Green-Reels each scored 12 for Teaneck as they defeated Gill St. Bernards 55-46! Sophomore Stud Tyus Battle led Gill with 14 points! More Fallball action Saturday!!
