PARAMUS CATHOLIC OUTLASTS ST. JOSEPH’S 72-68!!

St. Joseph H.S., Montvale, N.J….  Senior Kyle Menard scored 28 points and Junior Kareem Coston scored 24 points to lead#10 Seeded001 Paramus Catholic past #7 Seeded St. Joseph 72 -68 in a North A Non-Public State game! Menard(#3) was a tough guard for St. Joe’s as he go
t to the basket strong and knocked down “triples” for much of the game! But the critical moment of the game was with almost 3 minutes left in the 4th and Paramus Catholic up 3 Menard picked up his 5th foul and was out so Paramus Catholic had to find a way to hold on! That’s when Coston(#2) took over and got help from his teammates Senior Marquis Watson, Senior Jordan McCain,Senior Tyler Iozia and Freshman 
Marlon Ebanks down the stretch! Coston went 3 for 4 from the foul line down the stretch and made a tough layup and Ebanks probably hit the biggest shot of the game with a no-no yes “triple” from the corner!

Watson finished the game with 3 steals and 10 rebounds! St. Joe’s was led by Junior Quai Jefferson with 16 points and Junior Connor Fitzpatrick with 15! Paramus Catholic moves on to play #2 Seed St. Peters Prep Thursday!!

 

PASSAIC COUNTY TECH BLOWS PAST MORRIS KNOLLS 68-46!!

001Wayne, N.J…. Junior Zaheem Beal (right)scored 25 points as #8 seed Passaic County Tech beat #9 seed Morris Knolls 68-46 in a Group 4 State Playoff! Tech took an early 20-6 lead at the end of the 1st quarter and outscored Morris Knolls 19-9 in the 3rd quarter to take a 51-31 lead into the 4th! Beal was helped by the shooting of Junior Ernesto Regaldo who scored 16 points and dished out 4 assists, and Senior Kori Haggie who had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds! Morris Knolls was led by Junior Hugo Jimenez with 12 points and Senior Brian O’Neil who scored 11 points! Passaic Tech will now meet #1 seed Hackensack Wednesday!

ENGLEWOOD ROLLS PAST MANCHESTER 80-61!

002Englewood H.S.,Englewood,N.J…. 7th Seeded Englewood overcame a 16 point deficit in the 1st half to beat 10th Seeded Manchester 80-61 in the first round of the Group 2 States! Manchester ran out to a fast start and took a 30-14 lead early in the 2nd quarter, but Englewood came storming back to cut the deficit to 34-32 at the half! Englewood came out running in the 2nd half at one point outscoring Manchester 40-17! Junior Leon White(right) led Englewood with 27 points, including 5″triples” Junior Justin Iton scored 12 points and grabbed 8 rebounds, Junior Nelson Goodwater scored all 11 of his points in the 1st half to keep englewood close and Junior Julius Wingate scored 9 points and grabbed 11 rebounds! Manchester was led by Senior Jamir Williams with 19 points, Sophomore Jevon Rawls who scored 15 points and dished out 6 assists and Freshman Alex Morales who scored 10 points and pulled down 16 rebounds! Englewood will face #2 Seed Pascack Hills Wednesday!
