THE “WEEKEND” EVENT: SESSION 1 AND SESSION 2!

Montclair University Montclair, N.J….. The Playaz sponsored “Weekend event took place Saturday!

The Showcase Highschool Tournament featured top notch Highschool teams throughout the area as the First Session featured Paterson Charter, Don Bosco Prep, Ramapo, Rumson Fair, Trenton Catholic, Wildwood Catholic, Covenant Prep and The Sanford School, while Session 2 featured Paterson Eastside, St. Raymonds (NY), Thomas Jefferson (NY), St. Joe’s(Mont.), Newark Eastside, St. Peters Prep, Paterson Kennedy and The Patrick School 2nd unit! The Sanford School(team pic) won the first Session, while Thomas Jefferson took the 2nd Session! Their was tremendous individual play throughout the day! Wildwood Catholic’s Rising Junior Taj Thweatt(head band) had a 34 point, 19 rebound effort against Ramapo! Butler commit and Trenton Catholic’s Rising Senior Khalief Battle(blue shirt) had games of 27 and 24 points to go with a 21 point game! Lafayette commit and Ramapo Rising Senior Quinn Neal had a big game against Wildwood Catholic as he scored 21 points and pulled down 12 rebounds! Don Bosco Prep got a good showing from Rising Junior Isaiah Johnson Williams! The 2nd Session saw Rising Senior Chris Manon(gray top), Rising Senior Smith Vilbert and Rising Sophomore Nazir Williams all played well for St. Joe’s! Paterson Kennedy’s Rising Senior A’vante Gilbert showed his wares with a couple 18 point games! Newark Eastside’s Rising Senior Nas Anas(black top) was a problem the whole day as he had a 26 point and 16 point day! Seesion 3 takes place Sunday starting at 10am!
