DON BOSCO PREP AND ROSELLE CATHOLIC TO MEET IN T.O.C. “CHIP”!
Toms River,N.J… It has come down to this! Don Bosco Prep and Roselle Catholic will conclude the 2017-18 Basketball Season by meeting each other in the T.O.C. Championship game in Trenton on Sunday March 18th 5PM! Each team was tested much harder than expected as their opponents came to play!
DON BOSCO PREP 49 SHAWNEE 39
Don Bosco Prep withstood a strong 1st quarter to defeat Shawnee 49-39! Shawnee came out fast behind the play of Senior Dean Noll as they took a 20-8 1st quarter lead! Noll led the way with 13 points in the stanza! Prep cut the lead to one 22-21 to end the half and proceeded to hold Shawnee to 17 points the entire second half! Rutgers commit Ron Harper led the way in the second half scoring 12 of his 17 points in the final two sessions and pulling down 9 rebounds! St. John’s commit Marcellus Earlington added 14 points and 16 rebounds for Don Bosco! Noll led Shawnee with 24 points in a valiant effort!
ROSELLE CATHOLIC 75 NOTTINGHAM 62
Every time Roselle Catholic seemed to take control of the game, but each time a game Nottingham team would make a run to stay close! They eventually fell to the talented RC team 75-62 but not before earning a lot of respect within the crowd! Senior Alanzo Frink led the way for Roselle Catholic scoring 23 points with 6 rebounds and LSU commit Naz Reid who scored 20 points with 9 rebounds! Senior Jason Battle played a great floor game dishing out 10 dimes to his teammates on an assortment of no look passes! Senior Darell Johnson led the way for Nottingham as he scored 18 points and grabbed 8 rebounds to go with 8 assuts!, while Senior Ku’Jane Johnson added 14 points with 9 rebounds for Nottimgham! Like Shawnee, Nottingham came out quick taking a 8-2 lead! But by the end of the stanza Roselle had taken a 21-11 lead as Roselle finished the quarter on a 10-0 run!
