HACKENSACK SUMMER LEAGUE “CHIPS”!

Hackensack,N.J…. The Hackensack Summer League on 2nd St. came to it’s conclusion tonight with two championship contests!

The first game was an 8th grade final which saw The Paterson Playaz defeat The Chit Chat Diner sponsored Hackensack squad 43-40 and in the Highschool division had The Courtvision outlast Englewood 59-55! The Highschool game had Courtvision hold on to a slim lead throughout most of the game behind the play of Nazir Williams(St. Joe’s-Montvale), Zion Bethea(Montclair Immaculate) and Seth Brown(Hackensack)! Williams(right) and Bethea finished with 13 points and Brown added 12 as 7 players scored for courtvision who had to hold off an outstanding offensive game from Englewood’s Owen Roberts who scored 33 points in the contest! A bucket by Amire Walker(Hackensack) and a “triple” by Brown were back breakers against Englewood who also got 10 points from Martini Martin! Jayquan Briggs(right) scored 16 points to lead the Playaz in the 8th grade division “Chip”! Trailing late in the game, The Playaz came from behind to pull out a close win! They had to withstand the play of Hackensack’s Shawn Taylor who scored 17 points and the all-around play of John Judkins!
