HUDSON COUNTY TOURNAMENT: HUDSON CATHOLIC THREE PEATS OVER ST.PETERS PREP 50-47 IN O.T.

Union City HS,NJ(contribution from Jamie Gordon)….. Hudson Catholic had doubters, but they didn’t doubt themselves! Trailing 19-6 in the 2nd quarter, Hudson Catholic came back and pulled off a Hudson County Tournament three-peat by defeating St.Peters Prep 50-47! Senior Jr Lynch(left) led the way with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists and Junior’s Nassir Barrino and Adam Traore each scored 10 points in the Hawks win! Barrino scored 6 big points in the overtime! With the lost of All-State player Reggie Cameron(Georgetown) and All-County Star point guard Kavon Stewart(Robert Morris U) to graduation St. Peters Prep felt it was their time to get on top again, especially with the addition of Sophomore Star Veer Singh! But Hudson Catholic had other ideas as unsung Junior Eric Santana did a great job defending Veer by holding him to 11 points! Senior Austin White led Prep with 17 points with 6 coming in overtime! Senior Safee Sabur pulled down 8 big rebounds for the Hawks in the win! The game was not in hand until a missed “3” at the buzzer!

 

NOTE: Freshman Nate Pierre-Louis had to be carried off on a stretcher after a hard fall late in the contest! Gardenstatehoops sends prayers out to Nate and his family and hope for the best!
