COACHES VS. CANCER BERGEN VS. PASSAIC ALL-STAR GAME! BERGEN WINS 118-117!!
Kennedy H.S., Paterson,N.J…… The first annual Coaches Vs. Cancer All-Star game pitting the best girls and boys from Passaic County against Bergen Counties elite girls and boys took place today and turned out to be a great event,but more importantly raised money and awareness to a very serious cause! The event was organized by Kennedy Highschool coach Jim Ring and he got plenty of support from the Bergen and Passaic County Coaches Association! Teaneck’s Jerome Smart coached Bergen County,while DePaul’s Ryan Hagen with help from West Milford’s John Finke coached the Passaic County team! After all was said and done the event raised $7,000 dollars

Paramus Catholic’s Kyle Menard’s putback with 3.1 seconds left gave Bergen County a 118-117 win over the Passaic County team! Bergen came back late after trailing by 9 with 2:00 minutes left in the game! Teaneck’s Joel Hernandez was the leading scorer in the contest with 21 points and also pulled down 8 rebounds as many players displayed their talent in the fast paced game! Hackensack’s Chris Myers(right) who was voted player of the game scored 16 points,Teaneck’s Shakir Lindsey scored 12 points and Elmwood Park’s Andre Frasier and WoodRidge’s Gary Whritenour each scored 10! Menard and Teaneck’s Marcus Fulmore scored 9 points apiece! Passaic County was led by DePaul’s Josh Marquez with 20 points,including 5″triples” and DePaul’s Sanders Green with 17 points! Passaic’s Rahsaan Johnson was a demon with 14 points and 15 rebounds, Eastside’s Jetor Brown scored 13 points and Passaic Tech’s Kori Haggie scored 12 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as Passaic was dominant on the boards!

The first player to be recognized is Newark Tech’s guard Nasir White! The 5″11 Senior came off the bench for the Group 2 State Champs and was one of their leading scorers for the season and provided energy whenever he entered the game! Nasir can flat out play! He is a winner on the court and more importantly in the classroom as he has been accepted to high quality Colleges already!

ROSELLE CATHOLIC KING OF THE COURT! 65-49 WIN OVER ST. JOSEPH METUCHEN!
Sun National Bank Center, Trenton, N.J…..The culmination of the 2012-13 Highschool season cames to an end as Roselle Catholic proved to be the best of the best by beating St. Joseph Metuchen 65-49 to win the T.O.C. Championship! In a game with high leveled players all over the floor, Syracuse commit Tyler Roberson(botom left) and Sophomore sensation Malachi Richardson(bottom right) were the best players on the floor this particular night! Roberson scored 19 points and grabbed 12 rebounds and Richardson scored 22 points, including going 5 for 5 from the three line with every one of those”triples”being crucial! The game was close in the 1st quarter as they finished the stanza tied at 10! Roselle Catholic took control in the 2nd quarter as Richardson finished the half with 14 points and the Lions took a 26-16 lead at the half! St. Joe’s woke up in the 3rd as they cut the lead to one 28-27 on a three point play by Junior Marques Townes and again on a bucket by Kentucky commit Karl Towns that cut the lead to 30-29 and an opportunity to take control as Roselle Catholic’s Senior point guard Hakim Santil picked up his 4th foul!! But two huge “triples” in the last minute of the quarter by Richardson gave Roselle Catholic a 42-35 lead and they regained the momentum! The 4th belonged to Roberson as he scored 13 of his 19 points including a couple tough moves to the rim! Santil finished the game with 8 points and 5 assists and Freshman Asante Gist scored 6 points and dished out 4 assists! Townes led Joe’s with 17 points, while Junior Wade Baldwin scored 13 points! Towns was held to 7 points and 5 rebounds as Roselle Catholic made a conscious effort to keep people around him!
