010Teaneck, N.J….. Senior Joel Hernandez(pictured) scored 26 points and grabbed 8 rebounds and Senior Shakir Lindsey added 15 points with 9 assists as Teaneck moves into the Group 3 North Sectional “Chip” with a commanding 82-56 win over Old Tappan! Sophomore Ceasar DeJesus scored 14 points and grab 7 rebounds to help carry some of the load!Hernandez who was brilliant actually picked up his second foul early in the 2nd quarter and Teaneck extended the lead with him on the bench! Once he came back it was all but over as no Old Tappan player could defend him! Junior Troy McLaughlin tried to match Hernandez but the Highwaymen had more weapons to help Hernandez than McLaughlin had! Teaneck took a 44-22 halftime lead and pushed it out to 71-33 at the end of the 3rd!  The win enables Teaneck to host the Sectional final against Sparta on Tuesday!

HUDSON CATHOLIC ROCKS NEWARK ACADEMY 73-47!!

Hudson Catholic, Jersey City, N.J….. Senior Reggie Cameron scored 21 of his 24 points in the 2nd half  and Senior Kavon Stewart had 006-Optimizeda double-double with 10 points and 10 assists to lead Hudson Catholic past Newark Academy 73-47 in the Non-Public B quarterfinal round state game! Senior Jared Hall chipped in 12 points and Senior Kyle McLeggan added 11! Sophomore Nassir Barrino scored 8 points and dished out 4 dimes in the contest! Newark Academy was led by Elron Robinson with 16 points and Ryan McDonnell with 14 points! Hudson Catholic will move into the semi-finals against Montclair Kimberley!

HACKENSACK BLOWS OUT PASSAIC COUNTY TECH! MYERS AND MARSHALL REACH 1,000 POINT PLATEAU!

Hackensack Middle School, Hackensack,N.J…. Playing on a neutral site due to wrestling in their home arena, #1 Seed Hackensack made it’s middle school home as they turned a 9-9 1st quarter into a 91-49 rout over Passaic County Tech in the quarterfinals of the Group 4 North States002! Junior Rashard Figures started the 001explosion by scoring 15 of his 19 points in the 1st half! Hackensack took a 33-22 halftime lead and took off in the second half outscoring Tech 58-27 in the 2nd half! During the process of the game, Hackensack had two players reach milestones! Senior Chris Myers(bottom left) scored his 1,000th point in the 2nd quarter and his teammate Senior Eugene Marshall(right) scored his 1,000th point early in the 4th quarter! Marshall finished with 28 points and Myers finished with 10 points,9 assists and 4 steals! Hackensack got bigtime play from Senior Jason Smith who came off the bench to score 8 points,grab 11 rebounds and dished out 4 assists! the Comets even got little used Senior joey Diaz in the game late and he responded with 13 points with 3″triples” that brought the fans to their feet! PCT was led by Senior guard Isaac Williams with 16 points and Junior Victavious Mitchell with 10! Hackensack will meet Kennedy Friday night in a semifinal machup!
