HUDSON CATHOLIC REPEATS AS HUDSON COUNTY CHAMPS DEFEATING ST. PETERS PREP 56-49!

019St. Peters University,Jersey City, N.J., Hudson Catholic used a total team effort to defeat St. Peters Prep 56-49 to win their second straight Hudson County Title! Senior Jared Hall scored 5 big points late in the game to help the H021awks pull away! He finished with 13 points! Senior Reggie Cameron(#5), the Georgetown commit scored 12 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and dished out 4 assists and Sophomore Nassir Barrino also scored 12 points, including a key”triple” to tie the score at 46! Junior Safee Suber scored 8 points and pulled down 6 rebounds and Robert Morris commit Kavon Stewart(left) dished out 6 assists! Hudson Catholic outscored Prep 16-6 in the 4th! They had to overcome the play of Prep’s guards Senior Trevis Wyche and Junior Austin White! Wyche finished with 19 points and White added 15! After a 37 year drought Hudson Catholic have now won two County “CHIPS” in a row!

006 Wayne Valley H.S., Wayne, N.J…. On an incredible Shot from behind halfcourt by Freshman Jordan Thomas(with plaque) at the buzzer in overtime, #2 seed DePaul made a tremendous comeback to defeat  #1 seed Eastside 59-56 to win the Passaic County Championship! Eastside went into the 4th quarter ahead 42-28 and with what seemed to be total control of the game, but DePaul’s pressure defense forced Eastside into turnovers and tied the game at 48 with 3:00 minutes  left on a free throw by Junior Juwaun Carter!  The game was all tie011d up 50 all at the end of regulation! The overtime went 010back and fourth and with DePaul up 56-54 Eastside Senior guard knocked down a short jumper to tie the game with 4 seconds left! That set the stage for Thomas heroics! On a pass from Marquez, Thomas took a couple dribbles and threw up a high shot from behind half court which banked into the basket! The Freshman ended up on his teammates shoulders in jubilation! The win avenged the 61-41 lost in the County Final to Eastside last year! Carter(left) had a big game for DePaul with 27 points and 10 rebounds and Senior Sanders Green finished with 14 points and 13 rebounds! Eastside was led by Brown with 24 points and Senior Thomas Rivera with 9 points and 5 assists!  

SETON HALL PREP WINS ESSEX COUNTY TOURNAMENT OVER NEWARK EASTSIDE 58-47!!

006Essex County College, Newark, N.J… Freshman Temple Gibbs(right) led 4 Seton Hall players with 16 points as Seton Hall Prep defeated Newark Eastside 58-47! Newark Eastside took a 16-12 lead after the 1st quarter, but Seton Hall outscored them 12-2 in the 2nd quarter and never lost the lead! Senior Spencer Weisz the Princeton recruit scored 13 popints, grabbed 7 rebounds with 2 blocked shots and Senior Tom Lacey added 14 points! Junior Akbar Hoffman led the scoring for Newark Eastside with 18 points!
