MORE 1,000 POINT SCORERS!
Over the last couple days 3 more 1,000 point scorers have emerged! Paramus Senior John Morella, Passaic County Tech’s Isaac Williams and Garfield’s Damon Godbolt all joined the plateau this week!
John Morella—-Paramus— Morella scored 22 points to reach 1,000 for his career! They lost to Pascack Valley but not because of Morella! Morella finished the game with 1,019 career points!
Isaac Williams–Passaic County Tech— Passaic Tech beat Fairlawn 62-59 and in the process Senior point guard Isaac Williams scored 13 points and went over the 1,00 point mark!
Damon Godbolt—Garfield—- Senior Damon Godbolt scored 25 points to go over the 1,000 point barrier in a 86-53 win over Lodi! Godbolt needed 18 points entering the contest and made sure their would be no question about it!
HALL GETS 1,000 FOR CAREER!!
Jersey City, NJ……Hudson Catholic played their first game of the Hudson County Tournament and made it look easy as they defeated Kearny 110-43! The story was about Senior guard Jared Hall(pictured) who transferred from Newark Tech this season needing 18 points to reach 1,000 for his career! In the 4th quarter Hall made two free throws to finish with 19 points and reach the plateau! Hall led the scoring for the Hawks, while Senior Reggie Cameron added 18 and 8 rebounds, Senior Kavon Stewart had 8 points and 9 assists, Sophomore Adam Traore scored 14 points,Sophomore Nassir Barrino scored 13 points and Senior Kyle McLeggan scored 10 in a balanced scoring game! Senior Dylan Hoch led Kearny with 19!
1,000 POINT AND 2,000 POINT SCORER!
In the last few days, we have had a couple of milestones! Shakir Lindsey(bottom), the spectacular Senior point guard for Teaneck went over the 1,000 point mark in a lost to Hackensack! Lindsey scored 33 points in the contest and late in the 4th quarter hit for the milestone! Wood-Ridge Senior wing Mike Gibney(right) became the 16th player in the Bergen and Passaic County area to score 2,000 points in his career! Gibney scored 29 points in a 97-91 overtime win over Garfield! It gave him 2,018 points to end the game! Hoop journal congratulates both players on their accomplishment!
