TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS QUARTERFINALS: NEWARK TECH AND PAULSBORO ADVANCE!

010Pine Belt Arena, Toms River,N.J…..Quarterfinals of the T.O.C. took place and Newark Tech and Paulsboro will advance to the Semifinals round!

Junior guard Mustafa Lawrence(right) scored 24 points, Senior Jordan Zagadou had 14 points and 13 rebounds and Senior C.J. Webb scored 21 poin009ts , including 5 big “triples” to lead Newark Tech to a  66-56 win over Paterson Eastside! Newark Tech’s win advances them to the Semifinal round where they will face Pope John! Eastside held a 16-13 lead at the end of the 1st quarter, but Newark Tech took control in the 2nd quarter outscoring the Ghost’s 19-10 in the quarter and taking a 32-26 lead as Webb(left) hit 4 of his “triples” in the half! Newark Tech never gave up the lead in the second half as Eastside couldn’t get closer than 6 points! Senior Shakur Juiston  led Eastside with 24 points and 12 rebounds and Senior Asem Johnson added 11 for Eastside!

Senior Saleem Little(right) scored 29 points with 7 rebounds and 4 blocked shots to lead Paulsboro to a dominating win over B008ergenfield 90-65! Senior Theo Holloway(left) scored 18 points, Senior Deshau007n Burgess added 12 points and Senior Brandon Hamilton chipped in 10 points as Paulsboro had four players in double figures! Bergenfield led at the end of the 1st quarter 15-10, but was outscored 36-11 in the 2nd as Paulsboro took a commanding 46-26 lead going into halftime! They never were threatened the rest of the way and will now meet Roselle Catholic in the second Semifinal on Friday! Despite their struggles Junior Jovani Haskins and Senior D.J. Haskins each played well for Bergenfield! Jovani finished with 26 points and 8 rebounds and D.J. scored 18 points with 6 rebounds and 5 assists!
